mPower wins award


Innovation Organisation of the Year Award for the mPower project and cross-border health partnership. 

A partnership between NHS NSS, HSE and led by the mPower project team has won the Innovation Organisation of the Year award at the Causeway Ireland Scotland Business Exchange hosted virtual awards ceremony held on the evening of 1st October.  

Alan Connor, International Engagement Manager Interreg and mPower Programme Manager accepted the award on behalf of the teams and said ” We’re absolutely thrilled to be awarded Innovation Organisation of the Year. The hard work and professionalism shown by all involved has benefitted so many of our citizens across both Ireland and Scotland, and we’re so proud of the whole team. This result demonstrates the value of International collaborations and what can be achieved.”

The partnership which started the roll of Attend Anywhere nationally in Ireland in April had delivered 30,000 video conferencing health consultations by the end of August, was nominated for the award by Brigid Whoriskey, a Director of Causeway Ireland Scotland Business Exchange. The partnership led by mPower saw collaboration and support between the Scottish Government Scottish Technology Enabled Care Team to support the HSE Virtual Health Team in Ireland in the training of nearly 4000 clinicians and health care professionals by providing expertise, experience and tried and tested training materials.
