At the heart of the project was the Community Navigator role. These roles were truly person-centered and allowed the space to learn what mattered to the beneficiary.
Tommy Whitelaw of The Allaince said “This project has been fundamental in flipping the conversation from ‘What’s the matter with you?’ to ‘What matters to you?’ and the beauty of listening”.
Tommy is the National Lead, Caring and Outreach, Carer Voices with the Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (the ALLIANCE).
The navigator role itself developed further with some partners expanding the role to be more digitally focussed, several partners recruited Digital Navigators as well as Community Navigators.
