Digital Community Hubs

The project developed and delivered a number of Digital Hubs within the community across the jurisdictions, and these are open today for the public to utilise. There are several within the HSE, plus 3 mobile hubs in Ayrshire and Arran and more located in the Western Isles.

The digital hubs are an excellent example of successful partnership as they are bringing health providers and community groups closer together in developing new ways of helping to keep older people active, involved and healthy.

Following the Drumsna model in HSE, a further two digital hubs are getting off the ground at the Forge Family Resource Centre in Pettigo, Donegal and at Clonmany Mental Health Association in Inishowen, Donegal.

The Western Isles worked on a similar model, whereby community groups have been managing newly established digital hubs with the support of mPower. Two hubs have been set up on Lewis, and further hubs are being set up in South Uist, Benbecula and Barra. mPower provided equipment to enable the support to be delivered by the community groups.
